Brief History of Karachi Region
Regional Office Karachi was established in 1975. Its area of responsibility is spread over entire Sindh Province. Regional Office manages 22 schools and 3 colleges. Oldest school of the region, FG Girls High School Hyderabad, was established in 1935, whereas FG Degree College Hyderabad, the oldest college, was established in 1969. Renowned FG Public School Karachi, another historic and quality institution, was established in 1958. Other than Karachi, the institutions are located at Hyderabad, Malir, Manora, Badin and Pano Aqil. It is worth mentioning that FG Public School, Manora Cantt has produced excellent results in the FBI&SE SSC Exam 2013 by achieving 5.27 GPA and thus stood the Best among all 215 FG Schools. In 2013, the students of Karachi Region won 16 scholarships in Middle and 4 scholarships in Primary classes. It is a matter of pride that our institutions have produced renowned personalities including Admiral (R) Shahid Karimullah, Lt Gen Khalid Rabbani, prominent writer Javed Jabbar, politicians like Syed Naveed Qamar, Zulfiqar Mirza and Sassee Palijo, and Cricketer like Waseem Bari and many others.
